Knossos Palace — Minoan capital
Knossos is the largest Minoan palace on Crete and the legendary home of the labyrinth and the Minotaur. The site sits just south of Heraklion and features partially restored throne rooms, frescoes, storage magazines and ceremonial spaces.
Heraklion city and the central market
After Knossos, the tour continues into Heraklion for free time around the central market street (1866 Street), Eleftherias Square and the Venetian harbour walls. Plenty of options for lunch and souvenir shopping.
