About this excursion
Elafonisi, on the southwest coast of Crete, is one of the island's best-known beaches. It is famous for its pink sand and shallow turquoise water and is part of the Natura protected network. Visitors come here from all over Europe.
The drive is long, but it crosses the island through countryside, canyons, valleys and traditional villages. Before we reach the beach, we make a short stop for breakfast or refreshments.
At Elafonisi you have about 4.5 hours of free time to swim, sunbathe, walk along the pink sand, have lunch and take photos.
