About this excursion
A full day by 4x4 in South Crete, with a village walk, a gorge hike and a swim at the end.
We start with a drive through the countryside to Kritsa, a traditional village where you have time for a short walk and an optional coffee. From there the route goes off-road through the Kroustas Pine Forest, with views over the Mirabello Gulf.
The main part of the day is the hike through Sarakina Gorge. After the hike we head to the south coast for lunch with local wine and water.
The day ends at Myrtos, where you have time to relax and swim in very clear water before the drive back. It suits guests who enjoy a walk and a swim and want to get away from the usual tourist route.

What time is pickup and return?
Pickup is usually between 08:30 and 09:00 and return between 16:30 and 17:30, depending on your area. The exact pickup point and time are confirmed after booking.
How difficult is the Sarakina Gorge hike?
The walk inside the gorge takes about 1 to 1.5 hours on natural terrain. Comfortable walking shoes are required. The tour is not recommended for guests with serious mobility difficulties.
Is there time to swim?
Yes. The day ends with about 1 to 2 hours of free time to swim and relax in Myrtos on the south coast.
Is lunch included?
Yes. Lunch with local wine and water is included after the hike.
What should I bring?
Comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, beach towel, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera and a light jacket.
